Connect a phone as the second camera

Scan the session QR code and fix camera access on Android or iPhone.

Guide reviewed:

Check whether a second camera is required

Use your phone this way only when the exam setup asks for an external camera. It supplements the computer’s webcam; it does not replace the main exam device or permit unrelated phone use.

Connect from the exam screen

  1. In the setup flow, open Connecting an external camera.

  2. Scan the QR code displayed for your current session with the phone camera.

  3. Open the resulting connection page in the phone’s browser.

  4. Allow the requested camera and microphone permissions and follow the placement instructions.

  5. Keep the phone stable and confirm the external-camera check on the computer before starting.

If the phone shows a black screen

On Android with Chrome, check Chrome → Settings → Site settings → Camera and Microphone. Also check device Settings → Apps → Chrome → Permissions.

On iPhone, check the browser’s website permissions and its camera and microphone permissions in iOS Settings. In Safari, use Website Settings from the page menu. Menu names vary by version.

If it still will not connect

Check that the phone and computer have a stable connection and that you opened the QR code for the current attempt. Report the phone model, browser, connection stage and error to support. Do not use third-party phone-as-webcam tools as a substitute.

What to check before contacting them
What to include in a support message
  • Exam name and the step where the problem occurred.
  • The time and your time zone.
  • Exact error text, operating system, and browser or app version.
  • Checks already tried; an error screenshot without exam questions or unnecessary personal data.

Do not include passwords, sign-in codes or identity documents in an ordinary message. Use the exam’s designated identity-check step for documents.
