Manage groups and invitation codes

Add participants and instructors, and diagnose an expired or rejected invitation code.

Guide reviewed:

Create or open a group

Open Groups → My Groups. Search by name or select Create, enter a group name and save. Access to this area depends on role permissions.

Add members

Use Add in the group’s member section to select existing participants. Use the instructor tab for teachers. If permitted, Create lets you add a new person to the organisation. Confirm the member list after saving.

Create the right invitation

  1. Open Invitation Codes and choose the required access type: registration, course, assignment or group.

  2. Give the code a clear name and select the intended resource.

  3. Set an activation limit and expiry date/time. In the documented interface, a maximum-use value of 0 means unlimited.

  4. Use Personal Invitations when the code should work only for specified people.

A code is rejected

Check its resource, expiry, remaining activations and personal-user restriction. A code is tied to one resource; the documented access type cannot be changed after creation. Create a correctly scoped replacement when necessary rather than editing an unrelated invitation.

Before deleting

Deleting a code invalidates it, and the guide says it cannot be restored. Confirm the affected users and replacement plan first. Share invitation codes only with their intended recipients.

Access, schedule or results

Contact your exam organiser using the details in your invitation. They handle assignment access and timing, grades, retakes, appeals and individual arrangements.

What to check before contacting them
What to include in a support message
  • Exam name and the step where the problem occurred.
  • The time and your time zone.
  • Exact error text, operating system, and browser or app version.
  • Checks already tried; an error screenshot without exam questions or unnecessary personal data.

Do not include passwords, sign-in codes or identity documents in an ordinary message. Use the exam’s designated identity-check step for documents.
