Create a test and add questions

Build reusable test content, configure scoring and understand which edits affect new assignments.

Guide reviewed:

Create the test content

  1. Sign in with a manager or administrator account.

  2. Open Library → Tests and select Add test.

  3. Enter the test name and description, then save.

  4. Add questions or reuse existing questions from the library. The guide also describes XLS and CSV import.

Configure each question

For multiple-choice tasks, add the options and mark the correct answers; enable multiple selection only when intended. Open-ended responses are reviewed by a teacher or manager and can permit file attachments.

For code questions, choose the execution service, allowed languages and test cases with input and expected output. For fill-in-the-blank questions, define the answer format and value for each blank.

Set points, optional penalties, difficulty and any hints or feedback. Preview the questions and verify that the scoring matches your programme rules.

A test is not yet an assigned exam

Library content becomes an exam for participants when used in an assignment with an audience, schedule and delivery settings.

Editing an existing test

The official guide states that library edits are used for new assignments and do not automatically change assignments already created. Check the actual material in an existing assignment before telling participants that a correction is available.

What to check before contacting them
What to include in a support message
  • Exam name and the step where the problem occurred.
  • The time and your time zone.
  • Exact error text, operating system, and browser or app version.
  • Checks already tried; an error screenshot without exam questions or unnecessary personal data.

Do not include passwords, sign-in codes or identity documents in an ordinary message. Use the exam’s designated identity-check step for documents.
