Screen sharing is blocked or keeps loading

Choose the requested capture source and check screen-recording permissions.

Guide reviewed:

Follow the current setup prompt

Some exams require screen monitoring. The required capture source is defined by the actual exam setup: use Entire Screen when it explicitly asks for the whole display. Do not substitute a browser tab or window for that requirement.

Make the Share button active

  1. Open the screen-sharing prompt from the equipment check.

  2. Select the required source tab in the browser dialog.

  3. Click the preview thumbnail to highlight the screen or window.

  4. Select Share and return to the equipment check.

If access remains blocked

On macOS, check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording or Screen Recording, depending on the version. Allow the browser or TrustExam app you are using. A restart may be requested; do this before the timed attempt or with support guidance.

Close unrelated screen-sharing or remote-control apps. Disconnect extra displays if your exam requires one display. On a managed device, ask IT to confirm permissions rather than changing security software yourself.

If loading continues

Check camera and microphone permissions and connection stability. If the timed exam has already started, use the interruption guide before restarting the browser. Tell support whether the failure is at the Desktop, Front Camera or another step.

Access, schedule or results

Contact your exam organiser using the details in your invitation. They handle assignment access and timing, grades, retakes, appeals and individual arrangements.

What to check before contacting them
What to include in a support message
  • Exam name and the step where the problem occurred.
  • The time and your time zone.
  • Exact error text, operating system, and browser or app version.
  • Checks already tried; an error screenshot without exam questions or unnecessary personal data.

Do not include passwords, sign-in codes or identity documents in an ordinary message. Use the exam’s designated identity-check step for documents.
