The app will not install or open

Fix the “Open in App” handoff and check that you have the correct installer.

Guide reviewed:

Confirm the build and mode

Use the download offered for your assignment. Check whether it requests Desktop or Tray and choose the matching operating-system build. The help centre lists no Linux or Windows 32-bit app. Do not substitute a similarly named download.

“Open in App” does nothing

  1. Make sure the correct app has finished installing.

  2. Open it manually, then return to the browser and select Open in App again.

  3. If the browser asks to open the installed TrustExam app, allow that handoff.

  4. The troubleshooting guide also describes copying the generated launch link from the blank tab to the clipboard, then opening the app manually. Treat that link as private; do not paste it into a support message or another website.

The operating system blocks launch

Save the exact message and ask support to verify the installer and expected publisher. On an organisation-managed computer, involve IT. Do not turn off system-wide protections or run an unverified build to get past the warning.

The app opens but checks fail

Confirm camera, microphone and screen-recording access for the app itself. Browser permissions do not automatically grant app permissions. If an exam is already timed, agree recovery with support before restarting or reinstalling.

Access, schedule or results

Contact your exam organiser using the details in your invitation. They handle assignment access and timing, grades, retakes, appeals and individual arrangements.

What to check before contacting them
What to include in a support message
  • Exam name and the step where the problem occurred.
  • The time and your time zone.
  • Exact error text, operating system, and browser or app version.
  • Checks already tried; an error screenshot without exam questions or unnecessary personal data.

Do not include passwords, sign-in codes or identity documents in an ordinary message. Use the exam’s designated identity-check step for documents.
