Take an exam in your browser

From opening the assignment to equipment checks, identification and submission.

Guide reviewed:

Before you start

Choose this guide when your assignment uses Browser mode. If the assignment asks for Desktop or Tray, follow that mode’s guide instead. Read the instructions, permitted materials and rules for moving between questions.

Open and prepare the assignment

  1. Sign in through your invitation or LMS. In TrustExam, select the exam under Assignments.

  2. Read the exam rules and the agreement shown for the session.

  3. Complete the equipment check and allow the requested camera and microphone permissions.

  4. If required, complete photo or document identification inside the exam interface.

  5. If the setup asks for an external camera, scan the displayed QR code and follow the phone instructions.

  6. Share the screen or window required by the actual setup prompt. Wait until all required checks complete before selecting Start Test or Continue.

During the exam

Keep the required monitoring active. Use Next and Previous only where available; skipping or revisiting questions depends on the assignment settings. Follow the instructions shown with each question type.

Finish deliberately

Review answers where permitted and select Finish when you intend to submit. Results, correct answers and another attempt are shown only if the organiser enables them. If the screen freezes, follow the interruption guide rather than starting a separate attempt.

Access, schedule or results

Contact your exam organiser using the details in your invitation. They handle assignment access and timing, grades, retakes, appeals and individual arrangements.

What to check before contacting them
What to include in a support message
  • Exam name and the step where the problem occurred.
  • The time and your time zone.
  • Exact error text, operating system, and browser or app version.
  • Checks already tried; an error screenshot without exam questions or unnecessary personal data.

Do not include passwords, sign-in codes or identity documents in an ordinary message. Use the exam’s designated identity-check step for documents.
