DIA and TrustExam.ai Announce Strategic Partnership to Modernise Driver Testing

The Driving Instructors Association (DIA) and TrustExam.ai are pleased to jointly announce a strategic partnership aimed at transforming the delivery of driver and rider knowledge certification in the UK. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to not only ensure fairness and trust in assessments but also to providing a more convenient, scalable, and time-efficient testing experience for all participants.

TrustExam.ai introduces its advanced AI-powered digital assessment platform to the DIA, offering online-first delivery. This dual focus means driver and rider, and professional driver and rider trainer, assessments are both secure against cheating while also being easier and faster to access, reducing logistical burdens on learners and testing centers alike.

For learners, this partnership translates into shorter waiting times, more flexible scheduling, and a smoother path from training to certification. For licensing bodies, training organisations and exam administrators, it increases testing delivery capacity, allowing more candidates to be served without sacrificing quality or integrity.

Backed by Stanford University's StartX accelerator, TrustExam.ai already serves over 2 million people annually worldwide in governmental certification services and national exams, including large-scale driving license tests. International results have shown both a 41% reduction in cheating attempts and a substantial x5 increase in testing throughput, proving that strong security and convenience can coexist.

Carly Brookfield, DIA CEO says: 'DIA already leads the way in terms of the robustness and high standards of our practical driver and rider assessments, and in terms of the quality of our professional development provision for driver and rider trainers. With this new strategic partnership with TrustExam we are able to offer even more robust, reliable and efficient solutions to assess the safety and competency of candidates who are to be licenced or employed in a driving, riding, or training capacity.'
